Brand You Personal Branding

Chelsea Brinkley is the person who runs my entire business. She has been with me every step of the way. When I was building this business, I did everything. As it grew, I needed other people to help me do those things I didn’t do well. Chelsea spearheads all of that. As a visionary and an integrator, we get a lot of questions on how we work together. In this episode, Chelsea explains how we get things done, how she’s set things up, the adjustments I’ve had to make, and how she’s made the process easier. We still have growing pains. We’re still trying to scale up the business. But having Chelsea take over as the Integrator has allowed the business to grow exponentially.

Tune in to hear us talk about:

1. How Chelsea got into this kind of work

2. What the Integrator role even is

3. What Chelsea needs from me to do her job

4. How we manage communication

5. The unforeseen challenges that have come up in this role

6. Why Chelsea wanted more responsibility

7. The adjustments we’re still making

Today, I decided to bring one of my 3 AM friends onto the show. Christopher Hopper is not only one of my best friends in the world, but also the most talented person I know. To see him focus on his different gifts has been amazing. In this episode, he shares how he went from owning a pizza shop to becoming a best-selling sci-fi author.

We also have a meaningful conversation on a variety of other topics, including:

1. The process for writing a fiction book

2. The difference between writing a story and writing a situation

3. Being present

4. How to deprogram our weaknesses without losing the good parts of ourselves

5. Reclaiming parts of our childhood

6. The process of learning to hear from and appreciate people who are different from us

7. Spirituality and the 3 kinds of psalms

Justin Schenk is the host of the top-rated podcast, The Growth Now Movement. We met a few years ago at a conference in Orlando and have stayed in touch all this time. He is one of the easiest people to talk to and one of the best in the business. All of us have been challenged recently. We’ve had new opportunities to grow and had to pivot our businesses in different ways. Justin has experienced this too. I brought him on to talk about the changes he’s made and how we can continue to pursue personal growth during uncertain times.

In the episode, we discuss:

1. How COVID has changed Justin’s business and life

2. The conversation we had about abundance that shifted his perspective

3. Building community for the long haul

4. How he started and grew his podcast

5. Setting big goals and intentions

6. What to do when it’s hard to ask for help

7. His upcoming virtual event, the Growth Now Summit

Recently, I’ve been trying different things in my business. I’ve gotten out of my comfort zone and grown as a communicator, marketer, and entrepreneur. It’s good practice to be continually throwing ourselves off new cliffs in business. There are always new frontiers and we have to stretch ourselves to approach them. In this episode, I talk about what these new frontiers are for me.

The 5 new things I’m doing right now to grow my brand are:

  1. Getting comfortable with video
  2. Investing in coaches
  3. Reengineering my offerings
  4. Finding what works for me
  5. Taking back the slack

Ask yourself if there’s an area where you’re making it too hard on yourself. Think about what works for you and forget what you’ve been told to do. I hope this episode gives you permission to reconsider how you’re growing your brand.

Phillip Stutts is a marketing consultant who worked for decades in the political space. I’m not very into politics, but I am fascinated by the branding and marketing aspect of it. I brought Phillip on to have a conversation about all of that, as well as how today’s real-time issues have affected the economy and buying decisions. We have one of the most interesting conversations I’ve ever had on the podcast. If you have a business and are wondering what people are thinking and buying right now, listen in.

We talk about:

  1. How Phillip developed his marketing model
  2. How American consumers are making purchasing decisions now
  3. The importance of safety to the American consumer today
  4. How race issues have affected marketing and messaging
  5. The disruptions that are happening everywhere
